Our timetable for the day
(We do reserve the right to alter it at short notice. This is only fair, when you think about it. Changes crop up, people fall ill and whatever, and we can’t be held responsible for the totally unexpected!)
10.30am. Castle Bytham Chase, a 5k run, open to all, including families, and more serious runners.
10.00 to 2.00pm. Open village/garden. We bawl our wares out, on the pavement, unlike the dachshund! (This is a joke). Around the village, individual households will be having, as I understand it, garage type sales so come and snap up a few bargains.
The Historic Walk. Walk around our village with the aid of Harry’s guide booklet, for which there is a small fee.
1.30pm. The music kicks off, in the meadow. Food and drink will be available and the bar will open with a beer festival; 24 different ales this year! There will be a Decorate a Wheelbarrow competition. Judging starts, in the meadow, at 3pm.
Sunday, all day.
Craft & local produce stalls. Look out for some exciting new stalls, including luxury gins, preserves, woodcraft and clothing.
The Duck Race
Street entertainers; return of the Bourne Borderers, and the Pig Dyke Molly dancers
Music starts mid-day, with food and drink in the meadow.
The Village Hall will be open from 7.30am, so I’m told, selling bacon rolls, and lunch later
