The Castle Inn is proud to be in this year’s Good Beer Guide
They have an ever varied range of real ales and the Jollydale cider (made locally from cider apples) is first class.
Charlotte serves excellent home cooked food. You must try her ‘whale on a plate’, the best fish & chips I’ve ever tasted, and that’s saying some. And you’re doing well if you eat the lot. They do a promotion on Fish & Chips on Tuesday evenings, and they have a Steak Night on Fridays.
They’re open every evening from 5pm and on Sundays they open at 10am for breakfast and Sunday papers, followed by Sunday lunch.
On Sunday evenings The Cheese Club have their weekly meetings, the only one I know of in the UK.
On the last Sunday in the month they have a Folk Music night.
All in all, a cracking pub, not to be missed.
